Hi there,
I am a single mom of a small family. Our family consists of myself, my 13 year old son and our golden retreiver, Buddy (who is as important a member as the both of us! :-) )... I have my own copy editing, copy writing and research business and do fairly well, making a decent income. However, my son is somewhat of a special needs student and is enrolled in a private school with specialized education. He is a wonderful and amibitious child. However, he was diagnosed with severe depression a few years back and an anxiety disorder. As one would imagine, depression in a child so young was a shock. Yet, because of his shy and overly sensitive demeanor, the public school system was not a place where he could thrive. His progressive downward spiral began when he became fully aware that he was not like the other kids and was continually falling behind his peers...both academically and mentally. Today, with the right medications and the incredible help of a private school that is wonderful in dealing with children just like him, he is a happy teenager who has finally grown some confidence and a sense of worth. Nevertheless, his schooling is $900/month: a tuition that his grandparents had paid previously. Unfortunately, his grandmother (my mother) has been diagnosed with cancer and the copay for her chemotherapy appointments are $3000 each, aside from medications and other expenses. This leaves them unable to help my son, this year.
I have tried to save in every possible way in order for my son to be able to continue in this school. However, on top of rent, food, some unexpected medical expenses and all the other usual expenses involved in taking care of a child, it is just not possible. I am also struggling with some health issues of my own and the medical costs associated with that. I was previously diagnosed with bleeding ulcers and have become considerably anemic as a result. Having not pursued the treatment I should have (due to cost), I've ended up with severe anemia...for those of you in the medical field, I've had a hematocrit rate as low as 19. My continued medical appointments, blood transfusions and IV Iron therapy are quite expensive. I hate to have to choose between my own health and my son's wellbeing. Though, I will certainly choose him above all, a heatlhy child also requires a healthy mom to take care of them. Yet, without the specialized care that my son receives from his private school, I am very fearful that he will experience further issues and not receive the specialized attention he needs to become a productive and well-adjusted young adult. I am desperately hoping that I will be able to obtain a loan in the amount of $3600 to pay for his first four months of tuition for the coming year, affording him the opportunity to continue attending this school, while allowing me to continue my treatments for the next 4 months.
I am infinitely grateful for any help I receive and more than happy to pay back the full amount with interest and in a timely manner.
Please feel free to contact me via email: scarletletterwriting@hotmail.com thank you for your time! :-)
